How to transfer contacts from Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to pc?

My step dad broke his phone a few days ago and the screen won't work at all. He got the new Note and they transferred his contacts but some were lost. It's a problem because most of his work contacts were the lost ones. We cannot look on the screen for them either. I already tried looking through the folders once I connected it but found nothing. I also tried searching the phone too and found nothing.

Welcome to Android Central! Were those contacts not associated with his Google account? That's the best way to keep contacts safe, and it's very easy to sync them to a new device. If they were saved to the Phone account, then it's harder to access them.

Have you tried using Kies?
