How do i update Google play store app

when trying to make a purchase in an app, I get a message reading "Purchases unavailable! Google Play Store app needs to be updated."

Hello. It may mean you have Auto Updates and Notifications turned off in the Play Store app, though it seems odd the Play Store would not update itself.

It may mean your account payment method needs updating, have you changed cards recently.

Go to Play Store app, or Play Store on a pc browser, and go to My Apps, and My Account.
