I recently uninstalled the Facebook app. Now I can't reinstall. It says installation error - 504. I've tried clearing cache of play as well as the residual files of the app but I am still unable to install it again. I am not rooted. I am currently running 5.0.2.

Was Facebook preinstalled, or did you initially install it yourself?

Try going to Settings>Accounts and removing your Google account, then adding it back again.

An app update for Facebook just showed up in the Play Store--try installing again, in case they had to fix some installation issue.

Javier I already tried doing that. And I'll try the new update B. Is it possible that a file isn't deleted or removed from the data folder in my device. (that data/data folder)

Nope. The new update didn't install. " Unknown error code during application install - 504 (it's not a hyphen it's a negative sign)

Try wiping the cache partition: https://motorola-global-portal.custh...p/30,6720,9197. These steps should work for the G.

Does this problem happen just with Facebook? Can you download any other app with the same sort of size?

Yes. It's only with Facebook, yes I can download other apps of the same size easily

It could be that you missed any residual files. Run an app like Clean master and if you have the FB Messenger uninstall it as well.

    Have you tried xceeder tip?

Go to apkmirror.com on your phone and sideload it.....

If you don't know how to sideload an app then go into settings / security and tick the box to allow unknown sources this will enable you to install applications from other places than the playstore...

Then the only thing I can suggest is to use the web version or there is an app called Facebook lite if you want me to send you the link for it then quote my comment so I get notified and I'll pm you the download link...

You could also try installing an old version of Facebook via .apk file and then having that re update itself into the latest version. Sounds backwards I know but has fixed a few apps for me...

There are other app stores you can download too such as the mentioned Amazon one, but also SlideME and Mobogenie

Also try installing Facebook, clearing the apps cache (the cache of the individual app), then restart your phone (don't launch Facebook yet). Uninstall Facebook, reboot again. Then install and run it again.
