I had my software controls set to download updates over wifi, and it downloaded the Lollipop firmware. I have now disabled that option, as I see it could be problematic. It's a Galaxy Note 3 model SM-N900W8.
After reading many reports about Lollipop, and watching many demo vids, I decided to postpone the installation. There are too many cosmetic changes I don't like, and KitKat is fine for now. I'm used to it.

I believe I'm fairly techie on PC desktops and laptops, and have a rudimentary understanding of the file systems on them, but not so much when it comes to the naming conventions of the nuts and bolts of Android. I'm guessing it's a .APK file or files? Of course, I could be wrong.
I've already Force Stopped the Software Update reminder in the Application Manager ALL list. Now, I just want to remove/delete/wipe clean the downloaded firmware files to prevent accidentally installing it.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm fairly familiar with the My Files file manager app. I could install ES3 File Explorer or any other recommended software, if necessary.

Thanks for any advice, clues, assistance.

What did you force stop in App Manager? What is the update reminder called as I searched and couldn't find anything.

Go to settings, more, application manager, all (tab), scroll down to "software update" and clear data.
I had 2x software update so I cleared the data from both, no more updare notifications ☺
