Why does my phone say XT1080, when it should be XT1080m?

I have a-at least I think I have-a Droid Maxx. It's what it was labeled as at the Verizon Store. I know that the Droid Maxx is an XT1080m, yet in the about phone menu, it identifies itself as XT1080. I have looked at pictures of the XT1080, or Droid Ultra, and it does not look exactly like my phone. Similar, but not my phone. I am very confused here, Any one have any input?
