galaxy s4 screen broken need to get files but its stuck in camera mode.

ok so basically my s4 screen has died, but everything i need is still on the device including numbers and files. when i connect it to my laptop via usb its connected as a camera, which i would usually need to access my phone to switch it to media device. Is there any way i can get to these files without the need to get the screen fixed. any help would be most appreciated.
