¡STOP Speech Synthesis PLEASE!

Would someone PLEASE HELP and tell me how to shut this annoying thing up¿? I have ZTE Z796C MAJESTY and I have NO clue as to how or when Speech Synthesis became enabled, but it has to STOP...its driving me crazy and I have come close to throwing my cell against the wall!!

Of course it has settings and accessibility which haven't been helpful with this issue and no talkback

Yes. I was describing the path from opening Settings to the get to Accessibility etc. Text to Speech is in Accessibility also.

I understood it was speaking every function or message to you, is that correct, or is it waiting for you to answer?

Yes, the settings are as you described. And yes it is speaking EVERYTHING!!

Hello. Sorry for not getting back sooner, it's 2pm in London now.

I would ask if you could post a screenshot of the Accessibility screen, when I find a guide to do that I will post it here. Do you have any phone store near you that would I'm sure be happy to help. That would be very annoying I know.


I can check the manual for the majesty also, but I currently have an intermittent signal.

Do you know what Android version you are on, in About Device, probably 4.1 or 4.4.

This is my Accessibility screen on my Motorola on Android 5.1( Lollipop).

The ZTE Majesty manual lists a Talkback setting in Accessibility. You may have a different version. That's what you want to turn off.
Or contact a Straight Talk store if it's theirs.
