My Nexus 4 cell cannot locate my Network as it does not show under Settings.

I have followed all the instructions. GO to Menu, swipe to right until i see Settings. Click WiFi. Select the Network (PROBLEM is here) you want to connect to (it does not show) and enter Password if necessary.
Once you enter Password you will Connect.

I have the correct Network & Password provided by my Internet company. I have a Modem/WiFi combo.
