Unable to Chang the Lock screen type from Pin to Pattern

hey there!!

I have been facing this issue from a weeks time now. So the issue is, I have a pin code for screen lock. I know the Passcode, but when i want to disable the pin and select the Pattern, its not letting me to do it. Even though i know the exact code, it keep asking me confirm the code.. its just wiered.

Anyone know whats the issue is?.. i really want to disable it and go with pattern lock.

Welcome to Android Central.

You have to confirm before you can proceed further. Enter your PIN at that point - in Settings, Security, Lock Screen - and you should then get the option to choose another security method.

Thanks for your reply.I still cant get out from there. I have been entering the PIN when it says to confirm, after i hit next, it says try again. I did the same process more than 4-5 times, nothing changed. I use Xiaomi Mi4i.
