I receive 300 + old mail every day as unread, which eat away all my 3GB 3G data in just 2-3 days in the starting of month

Default behavior with POP3 is for email deleted locally (on your phone or computer) to be deleted on the server. Some email clients have an option to change that to leave email on the server. Check to see if you have that option and if so, how it is set.

That option if set to leave mail on the server, can cause mail to be downloaded more than once. It shouldn't but sometimes does. This is because your email client and the email server are not communicating properly. The email client should know what email has already been downloaded and what has not so that only new email is fetched. In your case, this client-server communication is broken, so deleted email is downloaded more than once. All you can do is:

    1. Change to IMAP service. This is by far the best solution, with many added benefits besides correcting your current problem.
    2. Try another email client.
