AC Question

Recently I got an plan where the data connection (3g) is ilimited, so I can do whatever I want...

So with this feature, I no longer need to turn WiFi on at home (please, disconsider speed). I always turn off when leave and turn on when I got home...

So, what is the best situation to save (or consume less) battery in this case?

Data (3g) always on and WiFi always off?
Data (3g) on when not home and WiFi on at home and off not home?

etc

Just in case, Lolipop 5.1 (moto x 2014)

Welcome.

WiFi generally uses less battery than mobile data. At least, that's what I find, and in my case, with my set-up and signals, it's a marked difference.

It's actually up to the phone model, but most phones do use more power for data, because the signal is weaker, so they have to transmit more power (they assume a weak signal in means a weak signal from the phone at the tower). The wifi router is a lot closer than the tower.
