Why is my Samsung Galaxy A3 touch screen not working?

A

AC Question

Today in the morning my phone worked perfectly until it didn't in the afternoon. Suddenly, all of the external buttons (power, volume, home) were fine but the touch screen was and remains unresponsive. Now I can´t turn my phone off or do anything else with it. Normally I would try to remove the battery and try again but I don´t know how to do that on the A3 and don´t want to mess around with the phone. I´m hoping once the battery runs out I can restart the phone and see if anything changed but I´d appreciate some help in the meantime. I just bought this phone 1 month ago.

Thank you very much.

Welcome.

Whatever the fault is - digitiser failure perhaps - you ought to be able to get it fixed under the terms of the warranty, assuming you have one.
A Power Off and Restart will sometimes fix that. I don't see why you are unable to switch off normally....have you tried holding Power for twenty seconds or so, to force a power-down?
