Galaxy S3 email sync issue

[AC Question]

I've encountered an unfortunate dilemma in my s3. Before factory restoring it, I backed up my apps and contacts to my yahoo account. Upon starting up my newly restored phone I discovered that I can not access my account to sync it in order to retrieve my contacts and apps. When I go to settings> accounts> google it will not accept my yahoo account and simply tells me that I have typed in the wrong email/password combo (which I know I am not). I tried to link the account via IMAP and though it works, it still does not give me access to my contacts and apps.

If you don't have a Google account, open one.
Reset the phone so you can start initial setup over.
Enter the Google account first, making it the default..
Now enter the Yahoo account.
You should be able to access your stuff now.
Then do yourself a favor and trash the Yahoo account. Just my opinion...
