Galaxy s3 Storage space running out

The past couple of days, my Galaxy s3 has been saying Storage space running out. I have deleted many of my larger apps and photos. Also, now the contacts won't show - only a message saying updating contact list.

Have you thought about buying a SD card to help with storage?

I have a similar issue, I can't open pictures. I have a card and everything that can be moved to it is there. The only app I have on the internal memory that didn't come with the phone is a texting app. Everything else I can see on the internal memory came with the phone.
