Can my Galaxy S5 16G of memory be expanded to 64G?

Verizon made it sound like I was getting a good deal, now I'm out of room memory wise. To do a system update, my phone says clear 300 meg of memory. I don't want to. I have a 64G SD card but the phone will not let me move anything to it.

You can add the SD card. You can move your pictures, music,and videos to the card. You can only put parts of some apps on to your SD card.

Did you format the card to your phone?
