How can I change the pause time before the screen reverts to black screen?

When I want to use my Samsung S6 I first press the button in the middle at the bottom & the phone then enters the "Ripple" screen.
From there I have to swipe the screen to get to all the menus & functions.
My problem is, the phone usually reverts to the black screen before I can complete the swipe & it takes me 4-5 attempts to get to all the functions which is totally stressing me out.
I'm no spring chicken but this is ridiculous.
How can I change the amount of time I can have to do the swipe?

Welcome to Android Central! Is the phone on any power saving mode? If so, turn that off. If you have Smart Stay on, turn that off also.
