Samsung Gear S2 - Using Bluetooth earpiece for phone calls

I use the independent phone feature with the Gear S2 3G version when I can't have my phone with me (e.g. at the gym). I cannot get the phone to work with my Bluetooth earpiece to listen to calls (only to music). I don't want my calls blasted out over the speaker where others can hear. I can't find anything in the manual or online about this. Any solutions?

When you go to the bluetooth settings in the watch and see the connected headset. Does it give you any options for the headset? Like Audio calls or Media playback?
