How can I down photos from my Samsung Note 5 to my iMac?

I have been trying to download photo from my phone to my iMac, but haven't been able to find a way or program to do so as yet. My phone is close to being full and I need to get rid of some things, but don't want to throw them away.

WiFi File Transfer. As long as the iMac has a web browser, you can manage the files on the phone from the Mac.

Get thr cable, plug one end on the phone and one end on the Mac. Treat the phone like a flash drive and get your stuff.

Google Photos is highly recommended. It will auto backup all your photos to the cloud and even recommend erasing locally stored copies to fee up space (with your permission). Photos in the cloud can easily be downloaded at any time, but why bother.
