touchscreen of samsung s duo still not functioning after a new digitizer glass installed

my galaxy s duo 7562 broke it's glass and the touchscreen will not function. I bought a new digitizer glass to have it replaced. after installing the new digitizer glass, the touchscreen still would not function. is there something i have to do before installing the new part or what?
