samsung tab not connecting to laptop

[AC Question]

hi, i am trying to connect my samsung tab s to my laptop but its not showing up on my screen. it usually shows up and asking what i want to do like view files e.c.t, i was hoping to do a backup as i did before using samsung smart switch.
on the devices page in control panel my tablet is showing up there, it was working no that long ago so don't know what happened between then and now

just to update, i connected using another usb cable and worked ok, so must have used the wrong usb cable
