Should I root my Note 4?

A

AC Question

It's a 5.1.1 original android Verizon Note 4 but I switched to Tmobile and now I'm getting a KNOX error, simply card error, and my data and performance has suffered. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Before even considering rooting, which I should have thought was not indicated in your case anyway, try a Cache Partition wipe, and if no go, a Backup & Reset.
Of course, I'm assuming that the phone is no longer locked to the original carrier. If it is, ask them for an unlock code.

Rooting has nothing to do with the operation of the phone, it just allows apps that require root to obtain it. If you don't install any rooted apps, rooting the phone just wastes a little space for the su file and the SuperSU app.

I suspect that your phone isn't working that well on GSM, or on TMobile's frequencies. Rooting won't change that.
