How do I order my photos chronilogically?

I transfered my photos to an sd card and it has changed the date taken on a lot of the photos to today's date. This means that all my photos are now in a random order and no longer actually chronological. How can I change these back? This has happened to over 900 of my photos so it is extremely frustrating trying to look at my recent pictures.
