Why do my phone chargers keep breaking?

I have the speed charger for my galaxy s7 and the box itself got coroded, so got a new one from straight talk, I left it sitting in my droor and a couple days later I got it out to use it but the inside had some sort of liquid in it. I dried it all out and when I tried to use it it wouldn't work.
