Received hangout notification meant for someone else??

[AC Question]

I got a notification of three messages from my guy friend. I read the last one as I was clicking it.

My message box showed nothing new from him including the "she's so xxxxxx." message that I saw.

Is this something he sent someone else? Is this a known issue? It's never happened before.

Welcome to Android Central! It might be a delayed notification of one of the messages you already received. This has happened to me before if reception is a little spotty.
