Hi, I am getting a gift Sim card from Verizon to use on my Sprint Phone

Hi I am thinking about unlocking my S7 phone from Sprint. My Bro in law is sending me a gift a Sim card from Verizon. I want to know if I unlock my phone, will I be able to use the Verizon Network free of charge? Or do I also need the Sim unlocked for it to work?

You can't "unlock" a CDMA (Sprint, Verizon) phone - the "lock" is their database. If the phone isn't in it, they probably won't accept it on their network. GSM phones (AT&T and TMobile) are different - you can switch the SIM to a different phone every few minutes.
