Pictures gone from Galaxy S7 when taken from lock screen, where did they go?

Over the past few months, I've occasionally had trouble with pictures simply going missing when I go to look for them; normally, pictures of homework problems on the board or similar situation. I think I realized what photos disappear today: any pictures I take after I open the camera from the lock screen. Are the pictures not saved and gone, or could they be somewhere on my phone or SD card? A quick search of both lead to nothing.

I'm having the same problem. I've tested it and it's consistently losing any photos I take from the Lock Screen camera. it will save any photos where I manually go into the Camera app and take the photo. Let me know if you find any feedback. I sat next to actor James Franco this week at breakfast and would love to find my photos!!
