Phone will not power down...voice assistant is in control

I had my phone in my purse. I don't know what happened...voice assistant is now in control, ph will not power down...assistant keeps asking for unknown directional password and repeats error issue over and over. I have tried to power down using the power button and the vol down button at the same time..the ph flicks off quickly then comes back on with voice assistant still in control asking for unknown directional password.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? It's possible TalkBack is turned on. When TalkBack is turned on, you have to swipe with two fingers instead of one, and double tap instead of single tap. Using those gestures, go to Settings>Accessibility and see if TalkBack is turned on.
