AC Question

My LG G Flex is not able to connect to my WiFi which has a hidden SSID. (android 4.4.2)

It is however possible to connect with my G4 (andrtoid 6.0).

Both do not connect initially but i have to go through the process "add network" from the context menu. The login data is not too difficult so i should have gotten it right in some of my many attempts ;-)

Also i am not looking for security advice: the reason to hide this WiFi is NOT security-based! (It is set in a very very crowded area and the router seemed to get into trouble because of handling so many (futile) attempts to log on).

thanks ver much for any reactions!

Thanks! worth a try but did not work :(

whats strange, too is the message "failed to connect to network" appears immediately after i send the login data - which is very fast compared to usual logins or failed login-attempts...

Something else to try-
First part for a hidden network is to unhide the network long enough for it to detect your device. Once that happens and you can connect to the network, go into your router, find the android device and set a manual static IP address for your device. Next, hid the network SSID.

Manually add the android device to your router using exactly what case and password you need. You should have the option of expanding the information that is required to include the static IP address that you assigned with the router, what kind of security you are using, and any other information it needs including the password in the expanded Wi-Fi setup on your android device.

static IP seems a really good idea! it is true: i get offered the dialogue where i can select and input the static IP.
but right now the problem is on hold, as the windows10 user came back to the crew and we realised that poses a big problem, too. so for now we switched to different solutions which included making the SSID visible again.
anyways thank you very much for taking the effort and answer my request - i really value that highly!

i will update in case we come back to testing the proposed solution!
thanks again everyone!
