How to tell if someone received my text?

When I send someone a text I want to be able to see if they received the text

Then you will have to use something like FB messenger or BBM for both you and your recipient. This is not a feature for standard SMS.

The only Android exception to this that I know of is if you are on Verizon and text someone else on Verizon using the default Verizon Messages Plus app, it will indicate when the message is delivered.

What SMS app are you using?
Some apps have the option of turning on delivery receipts.

Delivery receipts are nice - but all they mean is that the recipient triggered the return receipt. He can open the message, then immediately close it - and you'll still get a receipt, even though he never read it.

The safest way is to ask the recipient to text you when he gets your text.

Delivery receipt is an indication the message was delivered, not that it was viewed. Also, the option to send any type receipts is normally defaulted to off. So unless the recipient has turned it on, your not getting a response.

As mentioned above, ask for a reply is the best way to be sure.
