Facebook app causing my android phone to reboot

[AC Question]

For the last 3 or 4 hours today (Dec 20th, 2016) when I try and open facebook on my android (Via the FB app) it causes my phone to reboot. Has never done this before, so I'm unsure why it's happening. I currently have version 106.0.0.26.68 installed and the playstore is showing no new version as available.

I have an LG 870 phone.

Hoping someone can help. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app hasn't helped. Of course, facebook makes it next to impossible to report a problem and actually get help with it, I mean, why should the gods speak to us worthless mortals?

Same thing is happening with me as well. Everytime I'm trying to open FB app, my phone starts to reboot. I practically needed to remove my battery then turn the phone on by myself as the phone just gets stuck on the booting screen. It's probably the new update which is causing this problem.

This is also happening to me on my Acer A1-810 tablet running Jellybean. I thought something was corrupt, so I factory reset and the first time I logged into Facebook it did it again.

Email them at android-support@fb.com. They might not respond personally, but at least they'll have the feedback. In the meantime, use the mobile browser site, which has about the same functionality as the app.

I have the same problem, but it only happens on my new phone, not my old one, I don't understand that. I'll just wait til a new update is available. Maybe that will fix it.
