Samsung rapid charger stand not charging completely overnight

Everynight I go to bed I open up My Alarm Clock app turn my alarm on and then place phone on stand. Charger makes noise and starts charger however with the screen being on all night displaying the time when I wake up the phone isn't fully charged. Called Samsung tech support they say it should fully charge, returned stand for another one, same problem. Anyone else experience this? and yes I'm using the appropriate wall charger and wire with the charger, up here in Canada this charger doesn't come with these.
