Clearing a work exchange account completely

Hi All, I cannot clear credentials on my phone as this is greyed out. I did have a work email account (exchange) on my phone. When I left the company I deleted the account but my clear security credentials is still greyed out. My S3 frontier keeps telling me that my old work account requires a pin - but I have deleted it. How can I clear it completely? Do I need to contact my old work to do this?

Did your old place of work use a MDM (mobile device manager) feature when putting company email on employee phones? Or, did they manually enter the email onto your phone?

You may need to contact them based on your answer, but i'll let you know.
