where can i look for deleted files?

using automatic call recorder app. i accidentally deleted a few files. is there a way to retrieve them? deleted files folder? galaxy s7 active.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry, if the files were only on the phone you can't recover them without root access, then its not guaranteed.

Your phone does not have a Trash like in Windows where deleted items reside for a period of time in case you want to restore one of them later. So the odds are those files are gone. There are some apps however that have some sort of restore feature, Google Photos for instance allows you to restore deleted pics for up to 60 days but that's only because the actual media content is stored on online servers.
If (big 'if' as most apps don't) that particular call recorder app stores your files online, instead of just locally on your phone, than you might be able to retrieve some of those deleted files. Which auto call recorder app is it?

(...also note that depending on where you live recording people without their consent might not be quite legal, it's touching on wiretapping-related laws.)
