Unresponsive black screen after trying to wake up from sleep J3 2016

AC Question

So my phone is a J3 2016 (SM-J320FN) and about 1.5 week ago i started experiencing the following issue:After i did an official samsung "security update"(Android security patch level May 1,2017) my phone has been freezing when i try to wake it up from sleep. So for example, when the screen timeouts after 30 seconds and it goes black, when i try to wake it up using any button,it will just stay black. The phone itself is still on however, since my bluetooth headset that is connected to it continues to play music. After about 20 seconds it restarts on its own.I have tried the following:
1:Factory data reset
2:Wiping cache partition
3:Uninstalling certain apps like Messenger
4:Removing the microsd card
5:Checking the temperature
6:Checking the battery for any physical damage
This has been driving me insane...The only culprit i can imagine at this point is the latest software update by samsung.PLEASE HELP!!!

It sounds as if some app is using most of the CPU's time, so it takes a while for it to actually wake up. It could be in the update, or it could be an app you installed. Things like Wakelock Detector or Wakelock detector with non-rooted phone (or just looking in Settings to see what app is running far more than it should be) might let you know what's happening. (I doubt it's purely the update, though, or we would have seen hundreds of posts complaining about it.)

Messenger seems to be a bit too active, unless you're constantly sending and receiving texts.

If you have "Auto retrieve" enabled, disable it.

If you have "Push messages" disabled, enable it.

I haven't received any messages in the past few hours, and Messaging isn't even showing up on my Wakelock Detector.
