How do I get rid of these "pokemon app" popup ads without hard resetting my phone?

I downloaded a pokemon app that I removed immediately after but I believe it gave me a virus. I have ads pop up everywhere even when I have no apps open. I have the samsung galaxy S7. I don't see anything in settings that could help me so if there is an app I could rely on or if I am overlooking the settings then let me know, please.

Welcome to Android Central. Did you give administrative access to anything when you downloaded the pokemon app? Hopefully no. If not then first try to long press on an ad and see if it tells you the app showing it. Second is go to Settings, Apps and check those recently installed for some thing out of place.
