2 Possible issues (Samsung Galaxy S6)

So recently my phone doesnt want to turn on. Only when i charge it does it turn on and even then, the battery goes only to 87% or 88% and once it is on, it shuts off after a few seconds, turns back on, goes to lock screen, turns off and it keeps repeating that until i unplug it. I have an idea of what is going on but I'd like to hear others ideas

Welcome to Android Central! The battery might be failing. Does this happen in Safe Mode as well? How do I use Safe Mode on my Galaxy S6 or S6 edge?

i havent tried safe mode, the battery was my first guess. let me try running it in safe mode

it keeps restarting. im really leaning towards the battery being the problem

i couldn't go to safe mode because the phone kept restarting

Sorry, but that doesn't sound good. It's probably time to take it to a repair shop.

im just guessing the battery cant retain enough charge to keep the phone on and thats why it keeps turning off

found the problem. the ribbon cable on the battery was cut in half. i got a new battery and the phone is working perfectly
