Can someone tell me why I can’t receive texts?

I have an iPhone 5s and I can text and the person I text can receive them but I can’t receive there texts but I can receive there calls but it happens with all my contacts I can’t receive there texts help please thank you.

In an iPhone, the default "text" is iMessage. If the person you're texting doesn't have an iPhone, you have to tick the SMS box first. (Your phone will remember that after the first time.)

If that doesn't do it, it will be time for a trip to the Apple store.
