Delayed new Gmail alert

[Android Central Question]

Does anyone have issue with delayed new Gmail alert on the Essential Phone? I just switch over to the Essential Phone but still running my old Samsung simultaneously. The Samsung gives new Gmail alert right away whereas the Essential Phone gives no alert unless I hit the power button or it's usually 5 to 10 minutes late. Any idea? Thanks.
