Why U11+ cannot pair to audio-technica ath-dsr9bt?

My HTC U11+ sees ATH-DSR9BT and tries to connect, but says "connection failed"?

It could be that they have no common profile. Bluetooth is only the mechanism to move data from one place to another. The profiles at each end determine what kind of data and what format it has to be in.
