Why can't my phone write on external SD card

I can't receive or download apps, files, musics, videos directly on my external SD card unless it is been moved to it. But when I mount my SD card it appears on my file manager but my phone won't write on external SD card
What should I do

Downloads go to internal storage. (By "receive" do you mean download? Then the same answer.) In an app (like Camera) look in settings and see if you can change where it saves pictures and videos.

(Whether you, or an app, can write to any particular place on the SD card, is determined by the version of Android you're running and whether the phone (or tablet) is rooted.)
