My phone's screen rapidly turns on and off by itself, making it impossible to use.

It's as if I'm rapidly pressing the power button, only the power button doesn't seem to be the cause of this as it works fine otherwise. I have an HTC One, not sure which model but it's an old one. It started on Monday when I tossed it onto my bed, but it was a light impact and it was wearing a case. I didn't install any apps on that day or do anything except go on Discord a little. It's really frustrating, please help

Welcome to Android Central! There might be a loose connection, or the screen might be failing. You'd probably have to bring it to a repair shop to check.
