why don't I have any sound? the phone is not on mute

I have no ringtone no alarms people can hear me talking through the phone but I can't hear them.

It could be a bad speaker, but in any event, it has to go to a repair shop for diagnosis. It's not some simple "push this, do that" fix you can do yourself.
