Want a full screen map that follows me - without navigation or overlays

I am looking for a map app that is street level detail for monitoring when I drive. I want it full screen, landscape, oriented north, and keeping me centered. I want to be able to expand and contract it (pinching or menu). I can't find a way to do that with google map. Does anyone know a tip or another map program that does this?

Google maps will do it. Select Pedestrian, then Start. Select the compass to keep North. It will zoom in and out by pinching. Will follow you without an address. Later, or during, you can look at the whole trip. What more do you want to do?

Waze will also do that. Just turn it on and start driving.
