How to reorganize photos?

Moved some photos to secure folder and decided to move them back. They no longer are dated correctly and were placed first before all the other ones. Quite annoying.

There are file dates and image dates (contained in the EXIF data of the image).

File dates are controlled by the file system and get updated when files are copied, unlike in Windows.

Some image viewers wrongly look at the file dates.
Some image viewers correctly look at the EXIF data.
