How can I get my photos onto my other phone

My phone (Nexus 5x) recently took a dive underwater for about 60 seconds. We were camping at the time so we could not access rice or any other absorbent for 2 hours. When I did get home I did what you are always told to do. Put your phone into rice for 2 days and then charge it for 24 hours. Sadly my phone was never able to turn on. Also to make things worse my photos for an unknown reason were not backed up. I need some of my photos and I would want to keep all of them. Does anyone remember any way to get my photos or if I can bring it to a repair shop?
