Apple isn't comparing their phones to the P2 (or P2 XL), but in any other comparison, the Pixel wins for dynamic range. (That's because Google developed a chip that does the combination of overexposed and underexposed pictures in hardware, making it take milliseconds (or less) rather than seconds (which no one would stand for - snap a picture, then your phone can't be used for 5 seconds?)
So at a guess (I don't use Snapchat), high dynamic range pictures come out better with the P2, but pictures with a small density gradient aren't affected.
