Android Central Question

I know that sounds crazy, and I know that people will say that the "x2" on the screen is for the telephoto lens, but.....I don't think it is.

I covered that lens, and zoomed in and its digital. I used the live focus, and it was definitely using the second camera.

So. If that's the case, is there a way to "mod" the phone ("rooting", maybe?) so that we can utilize the second camera?

If it functions the same as the Note 8 set up does, the telephoto lens is used for 2x zoom. However it only works when the camera is on auto and there is plenty of light.

At night or in low light the phone will use the primary camera and digital zoom, which is also what happens when you cover the camera because it gets no light.

It's also worth mentioning that the secondary camera isn't used when shooting in manual either.
