Android Central Question

I have a ZTE Blade Vantage and recently I've been having some trouble getting my phone to recognize some music files, so I've been trying a multitude of fixes such as clearing the Media Storage app's storage and rescanning my SD Card. The card itself is formatted as internal. One folder in particular is giving me a headache right now. I had it labeled as .nomedia prior to several Media Storage wipes and rescans, and now it's simply disappeared. What the hell?

Do you mean hat you had a .nomedia file in the folder? You can't "label a folder as .nomedia". If the folder itself was named .nomedia, you'd be causing your own problem - that name is reserved for use on a file in a folder, to make the folder not get read by Media Scan.

Formatting an SD card as internal storage is another problem. Apps have to constantly write to storage, eMMC (internal storage) is designed for that, SD isn't, so an app on the SD card could cause bad blocks on the card, causing missing files, corrupted files, all sorts of problems. (Using an SD cars as internal storage was a temporary emergency stopgap for 8GB phones until the owner could get a phone with more storage. Using it long-term is a really bad idea.
