Is it safe to return my phone under warranty if I cannot do a factory reset first?

The phone won't power on so I can't do a factory reset. The phone is being swapped out under warranty. I'm concerned about my personal information (ie banking, medical, etc.) that is stored on the phone's internal drive. Can I trust that Motorola won't allow that information to be shared?

Try calling them, letting them know what is up with the phone. Usually companies want the device reset before shipping it to them, but if you can't they might appreciate knowing beforehand.
