Android Central Question

A few times a day, I get a brief message on my phone that says either "Mobility State: UNKOWN, Mobility State: Stationary, or Mobility State: Mobile". It appears and disappears very quickly. It shows up at the bottom of the screen in one of those gray text boxes, the same type of box that appears right after you set an alarm. It happens randomly, doesn't seem to matter if I have an app open or not. Can someone please explain what this means?

cricket - Samsung S9
just started noticing mobilitystate messages today (3.27.2019). Have received a couple of OS updates recently.
messages annoying but so far otherwise harmless

The notification "Mobility state:unknown" keeps popping up on my phone. Is it a virus?

Hey guys, I keep having a notification on my phone that says "Mobility state:Unknown". I have the Galaxy S9 from cricket. I keep getting the notification near the bottom of my phone in a little grey text box. It shows up about every 5 min. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Re: The notification "Mobility state:unknown" keeps popping up on my phone. Is it a virus?

Bump

I'm having the exact same thing happen, and it just started happening today

I think it's a ZTE & Cricket problem because I have both too. My Alcatel just broke so I pulled out my old ZTE and am using this until I get my new Alcatel and now I keep seeing the "Mobility State" thing which didn't happen on my Alcatel. I'm happy I finally found someone else with this problem, I thought I got hacked or something.

You don't have to disable the Wi-Fi Manager just it's notifications. Since I turned off the notifications I have yet to get it.

I'm having the same issue which started the beginning of today. It's annoying and it seems like it's something that rarely happens to android users

Samsung Galaxy S9 here. Started recieving these messages yesterday night. Not causing any problems with the phone and how it works, it's just become very annoying and I started wondering what it is actually for because when I'm on one place for a while it will say "Stationary", when I'm traveling it will say "Unknown" and once in a random while I have seen "Mobile" pop up. Strange.

Has anybody lost the ability to connect to WiFi yet? I have been going through the same things as all you. Cricket, ZTE Blade, gray box with message about mobility state. Today I cannot get my phone to connect with my home network. It shows it as disabled even after I turned of cricket's wifi manager.

Cricket responded to me that they are working on a fix. They gave no indication of how long that will take.
As long as it takes, you won't see anything before the next normally-scheduled update. The fix foes into the update, unless the bug is so severe that you can't use the phone for anything (in which case, in the US, since Cricket can no longer provide service, they've breached the contract and even if you can get the phone working, they'd have to sue you to get paid, but you have grounds for suing them if they shut off your account - and they know it.)

So sit back, relax, and don't expect a fix until they normally send a patch, which is probably only a few times a year. (Cricket isn't Google, which provides patches every month - there's one due April 1.)

I have Cricket & ZTE. I checked for a Cricket update this morning and my phone indicated there was an update which auto-installed very quickly. Knock-on-wood, I haven't lost my ability to connect to my home wifi as yet, though I'm not picking up wifi when I go to local stores, known to have it, as I've turned off my wifi manager.
